Rosewood Beach

Rosewood Beach in Highland Park was selected for inclusion in the Great Lakes Fishery & Ecosystem Restoration (GLFER) program. What does that mean for the Park District of Highland Park? A visionary plan that included the Rosewood Beach Task Force, David Woodhouse Architects, W.B. Olson, Inc. and the Park District of Highland Park to bring forth the restoration of Rosewood Beach.

The project includes erosion protection, bluff restoration, native planting and beach expansion. New construction includes beach amenity buildings and a new year round Interpretative Center which is heated and cooled using a geothermal system and host ongoing environmental education classes. All beach buildings are connected by an extensive boardwalk constructed on pilings using EPI as the boardwalk surface. Look forward to a beautiful setting at Lake Michigan’s Rosewood Beach in Highland Park, Illinois.
